BP Diversity & Inclusion
Business Challenge
When BP decided to introduce a Group Diversity & Inclusion Policy worldwide, the UK division wanted to find a way of gathering input and feedback from staff in twelve different areas of the business.
Inspire was asked to help set up and develop a UK Diversity & Inclusion Forum that would:
- Encourage participants to share ideas about the Diversity & Inclusion agenda
- Explore the benefits of Diversity & Inclusion within the workplace
- Deliver feedback on the draft Diversity & Inclusion Policy documents.
How Inspire Helped
Inspire designed a two-day workshop that facilitated an exploration of the meaning of 'Diversity' & ‘Inclusion’ for the team and elicited ideas about how Diversity & Inclusion could benefit the business. The workshop was highly participative, combining a mixture of personal and team reflection, creative visioning and how to put it into practice.
Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, the BP team had created a vision for the future of the UK Diversity & Inclusion agenda, agreed how the Forum would operate and decided on the key actions needed to take the Diversity & Inclusion Policy forward.
